There was a need for rejuvenating habitation in the midst of the rising middle class in the eighties. It was also during this time that a group of Veteran Officers realized the compelling need of a support system specially for the armed forces . Thus VDFG was founded under the leadership of its celebrated General J M Vohra in 1986.
The Group works to enhance quality of life for Veterans, their families and communities by providing access to affordable housing, enhancing incomes through high-yielding, sustainable investments and building social communities for a richer and healthfull life.
The investments we make and neighborhoods we live in define the quality of our life. VDFG uses this as its touchstone and seeks to provide stellar opportunities both to its members and clients.
Three decades ago a group of enterprising Defence personnel who were once ‘Saviours of the Nation’ got together and ventured into ‘Nation Building’ with a clear vision of extending holistic support to the Defence fraternity to enable them to lead a more secure, healthier and happier life.
That was the beginning of Veteran Defence Forces Group (VDFG)!
Led by Gen J M Vohra, Veteran Defence Forces Group embarked on its mission of building vibrant
residential communities and providing economic strength to veterans in alignment with its core
values of caring and sharing. Today it is the pioneer establishment to integrate the force of
Defence Fraternity and help them rediscover their individual and collective strengths.
Relentlessly pursuing its objective, VDFG launched successful projects implemented through its flagship company Asian Townsville Farms Limited (ATFL) at several locations in Northern India.
Some of the projects completed successfully at Pathankot (Defence Enclave) Palwal (Green Orchards) and at Delhi ( JVTS Gardens). The Group is in the process of undertaking projects at the following stations :- a) Rudrapur b) Ambala c) Noida
The VDFG group equates profitability to community involvement and enhancement. It is equally conscious of its responsibility towards society because it truly believes that building social strength in communities is as imperative as building economic strength of individuals.
VDFG fulfils its CSR obligations and contributes a significant portion of its earnings with single minded aim to undertake welfare activities.
VDFG indulges in Corporate Social Responsibility activities by keeping bare minimum profits equivalent to about 10%.The Group has been contributing its resources liberally towards social services and community outreach programmes actively to make our community safer and stronger.
