VDFG Patanjali Chapter

In 2005 the Founder member of VDFG, Lt Col R S Gaba attended a Yoga shivir at Hardwar and was convinced that ‘Yoga is a Way of Life’. It was evident that the practice of Asanas, meditation and breathwork cultivates a deeper sense well-being that extends beyond the physical realm and brings balance and serenity in life. Thus he was motivated to bring the transformative power of Yoga for the benefit of all. He became a corporate member and was subsequently appointed a Patron to facilitate Yoga camps in Delhi NCR region by Swami Ramdevji. Through his selfless service for the greater good of the community, Col Gaba embarked on this mission with zeal and enthusiasm and influenced many in the process by special emphasize on Yoga. This helped in strengthening community service and well being projects and also unified community, veterans all under its banner.

This association with Patanjali has given a tremendous boost/fillip to our health initiatives and also in contributing tothe PM’s mission of ‘Vocal for Local’ to encourage Swadeshi goods. Inspired by the health benefits many associates including VDFG employees have taken membership of Patanjali Wellness camps. With the support of Patanjali VDFG, organizes wellness retreats which builds camaraderie among participants, cultivates a shared commitment to health promoting overall well-being. The first visit was sponsored in 2019 of 100 retired Defence personnel with spouses to a Health Conference at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Hardwar which was received well and greatly appreciated by all. Besides this ,VDFG regularly participates in the seminars and health conferences of national importance by Ayush Ministry.
