Lt. Colonel Rattan Singh Gaba is an alumnus of prestigious National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla from the 23 NDA course. He is a distinguished Engineer with an M-tech from IIT, New Delhi. A visionary leader who made his foray into the business world after taking premature retirement from the armed forces way back in 1986.He founded a real estate
company, Asian Townsville Farms Pvt. Ltd. under the umbrella of Veteran Defence Forces Group with a vision to provide affordable housing to the ex-servicemen and defence personnel.
At heart, a philanthropist, his business strategy aligned perfectly well with the larger good of ex-servicemen to provide them a better living at competitive low costs. Once the business took off, he envisaged a larger vision to uplift the lives of underprivileged and deprived sections of society, launching many initiatives. His dream has been to work towards building a healthier society and world. Ever since, he has been relentlessly pursuing yoga and wellness initiatives in association with Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar and was appointed the Patron of Delhi, NCR. In the past 37 years, ten of thousands, across all ages, have benefitted from regular yoga shivirs and health camps organised under his mentorship.
As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility, many schemes are run for the underprivileged in the field of education, financial aid and employment including aid during pandemics and natural disasters. His devotion to the nation as a veteran is an inspiration to the organization. Through projects that engage talents of other veterans and give them opportunities to live with dignity and strength, he demonstrates steadfast dedication to empowering and supporting his comrades and fellow servicemen.
His motto ‘When you give you live’ resonates across the entire organizational spirit.

Chhavi is a writer, speaker and filmmaker. She started her career making documentary films
for both corporate and non-profit organizations, interacting with scientists and experts, on
varied topics including environment, health, gender and the law.
Living for an extended period of time in USA and seeing from close quarters many aspects of the West and the East, she has, over time, developed a keen interest and appreciation of sustainable practices from India - its health sciences, technology, community design, et al- that preserve well-being in humans and the planet. Inclusion of Millets- a wonder grain- features prominently in her recent empowerment efforts wherein she works closely with Padma Shri recipient, Dr. Khadar Vali also known as ‘Millet Man’ of India.
With ‘Sustainable Living For All’ as a goal, she has a following on social media wherein she guides people to yoga, Ayurveda and natural, food-based therapies through her writings and videos. Chhavi is widely travelled and spends her time between India and USA.

Kumud Gaba has been an integral part of Veteran Defence Forces Group since its inception.
She has vast knowledge, skills, dedication and a heart full of empathy. She holds a degree in
a Japanese from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has rich experience in the service industry,
travel/tours and events management. She has coordinated events at national and international
forums.
She is an active member in Lions Club International, Delhi and has served as a Secretary and twice as a President since 2014. Her background brings invaluable skills in qualitative management for VDFG’s community service projects.
She believes in upliftment of the community and the under-privileged sections of society as a critical factor in sustainable growth and development. With an unwavering commitment to philanthropy, she has been instrumental in designing and executing CSR projects and initiatives in VDFG to enrich lives.
She is an active member in Lions Club International, Delhi and has served as a Secretary and twice as a President since 2014. Her background brings invaluable skills in qualitative management for VDFG’s community service projects.

Lt. Gen. S M Mehta(Retd.) AVSM, SM, VSM**

Lt Gen SM Mehta, AVSM, SM, VSM and Bar to VSM has a distinguished and checkered
career spanning four decades in the army. A highly decorated soldier, he is known for his
leadership qualities. A thinker and an eminent Engineer, he transitioned successfully to the
social sector after his retirement in 2014. As CEO of The Hans Foundation, he led its
operations with great vision and contributed to its phenomenal growth over the next seven
years. With a PAN India approach, the General Officer funded and oversaw the operations of
more than 200 NGOs partners covering 28 states in the core areas of education, health and
disability. Under his visionary leadership, many MOUs were signed with state and central
governments to expand the reach of The Hans Foundation to more than a million under
privileged. The focus was to serve the remote rural areas and slums in India. He personally
led The Hans Foundation Signature Programmes, the Cochlear Implant and Little Hearts,
which transformed the lives of thousands of children.
He took over as CEO of The Banyan and Banyan Academy of Leadership for Mental Health (BALM) in 2021. For the next two years, the General Officer actively guided the expansion programme in seven new states as well as in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh before joining its Board as a member. He now heads Asian Townsville Farms Private Limited as a Chairman and is an active member on its newly formed VDFG Kartik Trust.
He took over as CEO of The Banyan and Banyan Academy of Leadership for Mental Health (BALM) in 2021. Vinod Kashyap is a veteran accounting professional, an international speaker and a member
of various academic and professional forums. He works on Blockchain& Crypto currencies,
Audit Data Standards and Digitalization of Taxes He is head of Indian Delegation ISO/TC
295”Audit Data Services”. He has the honour to be the only Chartered Accountant in the
history of ICAI who has spoken at some of the most prestigious conferences in accounting
profession. Prior to setting up of NEXTGEN he was providing audit and taxation consultancy
services.
He has been active member of a South Delhi Lions Club in New Delhi and contributed through his service, expertise and presence.

Ms Neha Rai is an entrepreneur in the medical industry. She owns a multi speciality hospital
called " SahibAyurvedic Hospital and Yoga Dham" at Satbari, Chhatarpur, New Delhi. The
hospital established in 2004 provides alternative systems of treatment like
Ayurvedicpanchakarma, Naturopathy and rehabilitation. She has worked as a counselor in a
rehabilitation center for 3 years. She also has experience of working in an old age home from
2009 to 2012. She comes from a medical family background involved in Pathology and
providing blood bank services. She conducts health camps at different places to serve patients
who are unable to visit her hospital.
Neha also has Nursing experience of two years and is a passionate social worker who works with missionary zeal and enthusiasm. She has a dream of starting a senior citizen home and serve them.
