Mass Marriages
The Trust supports 31 underprivileged brides biannually by contributing towards mass marriage ceremonies, ensuring dignity, social inclusion, and financial relief to economically weaker families biannually.
Eye Care & Cataract Surgeries
Vision restoration is one of the most impactful interventions, particularly for the elderly and economically disadvantaged. Loss of eyesight often leads to dependency, loss of livelihood, and social isolation. In collaboration with Koshika Foundation, VDFG Kartik Trust supports cataract surgeries for the disadvantaged sections of society, mainly from the rural population. The surgeries are highly subsidised with a tie up with Shroff charity hospital.
The Trust’s eye-care initiatives focus on:
- Free eye screening and diagnostic camps.
- Identification of cataract patients requiring surgical intervention.
- Conducting free cataract surgeries with post-surgery stay in collaboration with reputed hospitals and medical professionals.
- Post-surgery follow-up care and distribution of corrective eyewear.
Elderly Care & Old Age Homes
Caring for senior citizens is a growing social necessity, especially in the context of changing family structures and increasing life expectancy. VDFG Kartik Trust is committed to ensuring that the elderly live with dignity, security, and emotional well-being.
The initiative supports families affected by Alzheimer’s disease through awareness sessions, counselling, and basic care guidance. Early awareness and caregiver support reduce emotional distress and improve patient dignity and family preparedness. The initiative is a joint initiative of Hope-Ek-Asha and VDFG Kartik Trust.
Animal Welfare
Dog welfare focuses on the protection, care, and wellbeing of dogs, especially stray, abandoned, and injured animals. Key activities include rescue operations, medical treatment, vaccination and sterilization, regular feeding, shelter support, and rehabilitation.
Education & Child Development
The Trust firmly believes that education is the cornerstone of social transformation. Its education-focused initiatives are designed to ensure that children from economically weaker backgrounds receive equal opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed. The Trust supports 11th and 12th class children of Ideal Radiant School, Delhi who come from the weaker section of society and cannot afford their fees. In addition, VDFG Trust distributes free learning material and books to the needy students each year.
Environmental Sustainability & Climate Responsibility
The Trust recognizes the deep inter-connectedness between human well-being and environmental health. Environmental stewardship is therefore integral to all its community development initiatives. Key environmental interventions include:
- Regular tree plantation drives in urban and rural areas
- Distribution and promotion of herbal and medicinal plants
- Awareness programmes on sustainable living, eco-friendly diets, and responsible consumption
- Encouragement of traditional, nature-based health practices aligned with sustainable lifestyles
Through these initiatives, the Trust aims to foster environmental consciousness at the grassroots level, ensuring that communities adopt practices that safeguard natural resources for future generations while enhancing present-day quality of life.
